Councillor vacancy – Westerham Ward

Following the resignation of Peter Storey, as required by law, we posted a notice of a vacancy which allows for a by-election to be held if 10 or more voters so request. No such requests have been received by the Sevenoaks District Council Monitoring Officer and it is now time to co-opt someone to fill the vacancy.

Councillors work together to make decisions on local services and amenities for the town and ensure the council tax raised is used to benefit residents and visitors.

The applicant’s name must appear on the current register of the Voters List, or the applicant should during the whole of the twelve months preceding the relevant date have resided in or within three miles of the parish, or the applicant’s only place of work during the whole of the twelve months preceding the relevant date is in the parish.  The applicant must not be debarred from standing as a Councillor.

Anyone wishing to apply should request an application form from the Town Clerk at Westerham Town Council.  To be considered applications will need to be in the Clerk’s possession by 9am on

Friday 15^th December 2023.
