Formally adopted Council policies are below with the exception of policies relating to the management of the council’s employees. All policies are reviewed regularly to a planned schedule.
Westerham Town Council must operate a system of internal control appropriate to its expenditure and activities. The Financial Regulations give details of how the Council must manage its finances.
Westerham Town Council has adopted this Code which sets out details of expected behaviour by Councillors. It is based on the seven ‘Nolan’ principles of public life; selflessness, integrity, objectivity, accountability, openness, honesty and leadership.
Westerham Town Council has a duty to ensure that rules for administration of the Council are followed. These rules are set out to guide the procedures of the Council and are called Standing orders. Some of them are required by law and must be adhered to; others are formally agreed by Council.
The Town Council donates grants to applicants through the year.
