Learning to live with Covid

Posted on Oct 13, 2020

Life may not be returning to ‘normal’ but we are all getting used to washing and sanitising our hands, wearing masks and keeping our distance.  We are also still eating and drinking in our cafes, restaurants and pubs and shopping locally. Many of our traders have been creative and inventive in adapting to the new circumstances and we are proud to support them – especially important now as we enter the winter months and our visitors are less numerous.

Much has appeared in the press about the proposed changes to planning legislation: we have added our voice to the many councils and organisations who have expressed their opposition to the effects these proposals would have on areas such as ours. Our letter to our MP, Laura Trott, sums up our views and will be published on our website for you.

On a more positive note and looking forward to Christmas, while some of our traditional events cannot take place this year there will be an imposing Christmas Tree on The Green, there will be lights on our streets and your Council is working with community organisations and the town’s traders to make Christmas a special time for all.
