Residents urged to have their say on local housing

Sevenoaks District residents are being urged to keep a lookout for a housing survey that will be dropping through their doors in the coming days.

Residents who complete the survey will help Sevenoaks District Council to better understand current and future housing needs so it can ensure new housing is of the right type, size and tenure and in the right location.

Everyone who returns a completed survey will automatically be entered into a free prize draw to win one of three shopping vouchers worth £100.

The survey is being carried out by a specialist independent market research company called ‘arc4’. As this is a postal and online survey, the company will not knock on any residents’ doors.

All replies should be returned in the supplied freepost envelope by the Tuesday 29 November deadline.

Information provided by residents will be treated as confidential. It will not be traced back to any individual nor it be shared with any other organisation.

Cllr Michelle Lowe, the Council’s Cabinet member with responsibility for housing, says: “I really urge people to take the time to complete either the paper or online survey. The more people that take part, the more accurate our results, and the stronger our position will be to shape future development to not only meet our housing needs, but also the needs of our older relatives and children in the future. It does not take long and you need to have submitted or returned it by 29 November.”
