The Finance and General Purposes (F&GP) Committee consists of Councillors from each of the other four Committees.
The Committee advises the Council on the acceptability of budget proposals from each of the other Committees and the level of precept to be levied each year. It is responsible for monitoring Council expenditure throughout the year and recommending the preparation of the Council’s accounts for sign off by the Council Chair. The Committee has oversight of the appropriateness and the adherence to risk management controls and audit procedures. The Committee has a sub-committee to manage all staff matters.
