Coronavirus (COVID-19) – To all who live or work in Westerham and Crockham

Posted on Apr 21, 2020

How quickly all our lives have changed over the last few weeks. Habits and ways of working which seemed neither necessary nor even possible are the new norm. We all have concerns and worries, yet at the same time we have all been heartened by the way in which our community has come together, offering unstinting and generous help to those who need it. Westerham is indeed a microcosm of the country.

As your Council, we have adapted as best we can to these new circumstances The majority of our staff are now working from home, with one coming into the office to check mail etc. Your Councillors are all working remotely and are in email and phone communication with each other and the staff. The office is closed to visitors and public meetings have been suspended. But necessary business goes on through on-line meetings.

But for the foreseeable future, we’ll be concentrating on what we can do to support our community in whatever way we can. There are so many wonderful initiatives already up and running – the Community Meals, Westerham’s self-isolating assistance Facebook page, Sevenoaks District Council’s volunteer system to name but three: so our focus is on supporting in whatever way we can all that the community is doing.

And we can and will react quickly to our community’s needs when new situations arise.

We are all in uncharted waters, and as we navigate them we want everyone to know that we are here and will do whatever we can.

You can reach us on email office@westerhamtowncouncil.gov.uk or by phone 01959 562147. We’ve brought together all the information we have from national, regional and local sources into a special Covid 19 page on this website and will be updating it as new information becomes available.

In the meantime keep well and stay safe

Councillors and staff of Westerham Town Council
